Virtual Imprints 2020
“When we recall the past, we usually find that it is the simplest things, not the great occasions that in retrospect give off the greatest glow of happiness!”
Every year Symbiosis Institute of International Business reconnects with its alumni through the means of Imprints which generally takes place in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. In light of the COVID 19 Pandemic, an initiative was taken not only to conduct this on a virtual platform, but also to expand this tradition to facilitate a global reach with its alumni.
Thus, SIIB's First Ever Global Alumni Meet - “Virtual Imprints 2020” was conducted by the Alumni Relations Team on 19th September 2020, hosting attendees from countries like UK, Netherlands, India, Singapore, UAE and several other parts of the world as well! The event, which was conducted on Microsoft Teams, was an incredible success, witnessing an overwhelming response from all our Alumni!
Our Director, Dr. Asmita Chitnis addressed the virtual gathering, while elucidating on the many recent programmes and activities conducted at the university, as well as the evolution towards incorporating this virtual aspect in our existing infrastructure of conducting classes and events.
There were two enlightening sessions conducted by our very own esteemed Alumni - Mr. Amit Aggarwal and Mr. Piyuesh Modi, which were brief training programmes conducted to give them insights on competencies such as Visual Thinking, Business Doodling and Storyboarding. These sessions were very well received by the attendees.
The highlight of the evening, was a Quiz contest on the Kahoot platform, conducted brilliantly by Mr. Amit Aggarwal, where the alumni participated with utmost enthusiasm to relive their college days and compete for special prizes. The winners for the quiz – Mr. Amit Sharma, Mr. Shivam Trivedi and Mr. Subinit Rath won Amazon Gift Vouchers worth Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000, and Rs. 2000 respectively.
Towards the end of the evening, post the formal closing of the event, the alumni were given an opportunity to connect with their batch mates and other alumni directly through break-rooms coordinated on MS Teams as well, where they could engage and converse amongst themselves directly.
Overall, the alumni were pleased to have an opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater through the means of “Virtual Imprints” even when they are thousands of miles away from each other. We express our sincere gratitude to our Director and all our alumni for gracing us with their presence, and we look forward to more such interactions in the future!
