Virtual Imprints 2021 REPORT
“Walk down the nostalgia lane, for it will bring you the essence of memories and moments of the past”
Imprints has always been the celebration of our association with our alumni. The times have demanded us to adapt to the new normal, and for the second consecutive year, we have been able to expand this event to a global level. We hosted attendees from countries including UK, US, India, Singapore, UAE, and several other parts of the world.
SIIB’s second global alumni meet – Virtual Imprints 2021, was conducted by the Alumni Relations Team on 25th September 2021. The event was conducted on Zoom Platform.
Dr. Asmita Chitnis, Director of SIIB, addressed the virtual gathering, elaborating on the university’s recent programs and activities and the evolution towards incorporating this virtual aspect into our existing infrastructure of conducting classes and events.
The event saw Dr. Neelesh Kumbhojkar, Director at Symbiosis Centre for Alumni Engagement talk about different ways of increasing alumni engagement with Symbiosis.
We also had Mr. Rishi Kapal, who shared his experience of being a Jury member and evaluating Sarvashreshtha and Udyami award winners this year.
This year, the Anusmruti awards were presented during Virtual Imprints.
The Sarvashreshtha award was given to Mr. Ramanathan T., an alumnus of the batch 1999-2001. The Udyami award was given to Mr. Binu Joseph, who is an alumnus of batch 2009-11.
We had a mesmerizing performance by our Music Club of SIIB Richman & co. which was a pleasant addition to the evening.
As the evening progressed, we had a panel discussion on “Future Workplace Post Pandemic”. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Manshul Nagpal, who is an alumnus of batch 2005-07. The discussion took place amongst 4 panel members, Ms. Sushma Swamy (Batch of 1995-97), Mr. Saurabh Pathak (Batch of 1997-99), Mr. Sriram Iyer (Batch of 1997-99), Mr. Sumit Mundra (Batch of 2000-02).
The discussion revolved around performance management, pressure cooker syndrome, how cultural differences affect the work, changes in the organization design, and what organizations can do to improve employee engagement and retention. Panelists also shared new trends affecting the work culture and how automation and artificial intelligence will shape the future of work.
Following the event’s formal conclusion, the alumni were given the opportunity to connect with their batch mates and other alumni directly through breakout rooms coordinated on Zoom, where they could engage and converse amongst themselves directly.
The alumni were thrilled to have the opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater through “Virtual Imprints” even though some were thousands of miles apart. We are grateful to our director and all of our alumni for joining us, and we hope to have more opportunities like this in the future!
