Event Report :
Illuminate is the flagship annual technology conference held by Veritas each year. It presents Veritas employees with a forum to showcase their ideas and innovations to students from various educational institutions and external speakers.
The day began with registering for the event, followed by uConnect volunteers taking us to our respective cabin, where they had planned certain fun activities for all participants. The day-long event had a series of activities such as the Product Expo, Technical Demos, and many others.
We got an opportunity to view several products and ideas showcased by the Veritas employees at the Project Expo in the space of Kubernetes, Cloud Technology, Security and Ransomware, AI/ML, and DevOps.
Veritas leaders of Pune, Mr. Vijay Mhaskar (VP of Engineering, Pune Site Lead), Suchitra Herwadkar (Technical Director), and other Veritas leaders addressed the audience after the first session of the Product Expo. They spoke about their journey at Veritas, the culture at Veritas and how events like Illuminate encourage collaboration and promote innovation for the benefit of all stakeholders, which is at the core of Veritas.
Also, as part of uConnect, students from various colleges participated in an innovative product design competition. The top three shortlisted teams showcased their projects on the final day of Illuminate. Some of the ideas presented by the teams were “Diarization of Speech,” “Cleaning Garbage from Rivers and Streams,” and others. It was great to observe these innovative project ideas take shape that help fix specific problems we face as a society.
The day ended with further product demos and interaction between the Veritas employees and the participants. With these interactions Veritas plans to act as a bridge between Industry and academia and to create a win-win partnership for all stakeholders. It was indeed a remarkable experience for all participants, and as Mr. Vijay Mhaskar (VP of Engineering, Pune Site Lead) said, “A day you would remember for the rest of your life.”
