Stepping Out Day of 2017-2019 Batch
The ‘Stepping Out’ day of the 2017-19 batch of SIIB was on March 30th, 2019. The Director, faculty and entire batch of 2017-19 graced the occasion which was organized by the junior batch of 2018-20.
The event began with lighting of lamp by Director Dr. Asmita Chitnis and Dy.Dir. Dr. Prakash Rao. Then, the teaching faculty shared glimpses about their journey with students of departing batch.The students also took the stage to tell stories about their journey of two years, from everyday academic activities to the everlasting bonds of camaraderie. As they were going to ascend to corporate life and were parting ways with college life, they thanked their faculty and friends, who were pivotal in shaping their management careers.
Awards were distributed to outstanding students who went ahead an extra mile during their two-year curriculum. This year, the 'SIIB award for Excellence in Finance’ went to Nishtha Kapoor, ‘Excellence in Marketing’ went to Shantanu Choudhary, ‘Excellence in HR’ went to Jishnu Ramesh Kappadan and 'Teamwork Global Logistics Award for excellence in SCM’ went to Shrinand Kulkarni (IB). Diksha Kumari won the ‘Teamwork Global Logistics Award for excellence in AB' and Poorva Pitke won the ‘Teamwork Global Logistics Award for excellence in E&E’. Also, the student committees have long been a part of SIIB's legacy. So the various committee members of the senior batch passed on their batons of responsibility to the respective junior members through an oath-taking ceremony.
The event came to a close with a speech by Director Dr. Asmita Chitnis, where she delivered a heart felt message to the batch of 2017-19. There was a short movie presentation of the batch's many memorable moments, that was a treat to watch and gave the end of the occasion an emotional note.
