Letter from SG

Dear Prospective Delegates, Faculty Advisors, and Model United Nations Enthusiasts,

Welcome to the Incontro Model United Conference! I have the distinct honour of serving as the Secretary General of the 2nd Edition of Incontro MUN, the Model United Nations organized by Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), Pune, India in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre for Indian and Bhutan (UNIC), New Delhi. Incontro MUN is a one-of-a-kind experience for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students with a passion for international affairs, high-level debate, and global problem solving. We pride ourselves on being able to offer this experience to both novice and seasoned delegates. As a learning conference, we put skill development, professional networking, and delegate feedback at the forefront.

At Incontro MUN 2016, We are expecting an extremely high level of debate that gives each of you a platform to present the views of, and more importantly, to take responsibility of an entire country and I hope that we will successfully be able to stimulate the environment and crises that is required to do so. We are now facing unprecedented predicament from a variety of issues that, if not dealt with in due time can easily cause destruction of an immense scale. The responsibility to find measures that can help us combat with all the environmental, social and political problems we currently face lies majorly with the youth, for the future lies solely in the youth’s hands. We have designed the agendas for Incontro MUN 2016 on the same lines. Whether you are an experienced MUNer or a newcomer, we look forward to welcome you at our conference and urge you to develop both academic and social skills. I wish to extend my heartiest invite to you all to be a part of Incontro MUN 16 as Delegates and Members of Press whose presence shall grace this event. I cannot wait more to see you all this September at our campus in Hinjewadi, Pune

Sincerely,
Shashank More

Letter from DG

Honourable Future Delegates,
Esteemed Colleagues,

Dear Friends, As this year’s Director General, it is my honour and pleasure to welcome you to the Second Edition of Incontro MUN, the Model United Nations hosted by Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Hinjewadi . I will have the privilege to be your humble host on the 22nd- 23rd September, 2016 in the wonderful city of Pune, a beautiful city nestled in the Western Ghats. However, it is neither for its incredible landscapes nor for its history that I kindly invite you to attend our conference. This year’s Conference is full of surprises and its contents will allow you, as a representative of a foreign Government, to explore new themes and issues, face new challenges and meet new, different people from different fields and spheres. Last year’s edition hosted participants from twenty different colleges and we aim to improve that figure, thanks to our new partnerships and networks with other MUNs as well as other associations, so that you may experience a lively environment at work to address worldwide issues. This year, one of our strengths is certainly the Secretariat: the chairpersons you will meet are amongst the most talented and resourceful people I have ever met. Not only they are passionate and eager to help you live an amazing conference but also they are young students and professionals just like you who will be able to broad and go deeper into your understanding of the international community. They have immense experience and possess an excellent knowledge of both the topics you are going to discuss and the international bodies you are going to simulate. In conclusion, we are waiting for you, young leaders of the future, to come and find new, intriguing, innovative and creative solutions to problems. I believe Incontro MUN 2016 can be an excellent opportunity to test your skills as possible future leader for your community, your country and, why not, internationally. However, I hope Incontro MUN can be an occasion to reflect over the role of leadership and how this can influence a community. There is nothing left for me to say but come: you shall not regret it!
