The General Assembly is the main deliberative, policy making and representative organ of the UN. The assembly has initiated actions on Political, Economic, Humanitarian, Social and Legal aspects. It oversees the budget of UN, appoints non-permanent members to the Security Council, receives report from other parts of UN and makes resolutions in the form of General Assembly Resolutions. It provides a unique forum of multilateral discussion of the International issues.
It has 193 member countries and they meet annually.
