SIIB students at Enactus 2018
Enactus is world’s largest experimental learning platform dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurs and social innovators. Enactus provides a platform for the students, academicians, and business leaders to collaborate and bring a positive change in the society.
On 12 July 2018, SIIB’s Entrepreneurship Cell witnessed season’s greatest clash of ideas and innovations, Enactus India Nationals’18. Amidst the bright ambience of Taj Lands End, Mumbai, stood 24 teams from all corners of the country. These teams presented remarkable social entrepreneurship plans which focused to cater the “bottom of the pyramid.” For the competition, the participating teams were divided in four leagues which were evaluated by a panel of eminent industry personalities. Panellists’ assessment added more angles of perception to the idea being presented.
Enactus’18 made us believe in the power of young entrepreneurship. It provided us the opportunity to interact and discuss with many like-minded students and professionals about the gruelling challenges of the world. The zeal and enthusiasm of the participants was highly contagious and it inspired us to contribute to the development of our society.
We got the opportunity to listen to Rachael A. Jarosh, CEO of Enactus and Mr. Arun Kumar, CEO of KPMG India. In their address to the audience, they discussed about United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Their major focus was on social and economic development issues including poverty, hunger, health, education, climate change, energy, environment, and social justice. We hope to further spread the word about the Sustainable Development Goals in our society and make this world a better place.
