Hochschule Bremen, University of Applied Sciences
The one-month summer school at Hochschule Bremen, University of Applied Sciences, Germany is an annual program. About 20 students are selected by SIIB and the visit is scheduled in the month of July, every year. This visit to Bremen, Germany is a structured academic activity.
During this visit, lectures are held every day whereby students of SIIB get an opportunity to interact with many leading personalities visiting the school on various topics. The program covers the following broad areas:
- European Economy
- Cases in International Marketing Management
- Global Management – Concepts & Controversies
- Intercultural Communication
- Air & sea transport
- Benchmarking in Logistics
In addition to the lectures and intensive course work, students are taken on a guided historical and cultural tour of the town center and cathedral. Visits to industries like Ospig Textil Logistik GmbH, Volkswagen Autostadt, Beck’s Brewery, Mercedes Benz plant, Eurogate Container Terminal, Airbus, Daimler Chrysler and Bremen Cotton Exchange are complemented with visits to the Bremen Industrial Harbour and the World Trade Centre. The exposure to this fine city, its food, culture, tradition and the wonderful people make the trip to Bremen a truly memorable one. The trip also involves travel to other fascinating cites within Europe including Hamburg, Amsterdam and Copenhagen. Being an International Business Institute, this program is extremely beneficial to the students, as they get a chance to have a first-hand experience of global trade practices during their visit. It is truly a blend of classroom sessions and industry visits.
