The Marketing club of SIIB, Markadiction, organized the annual Marketing conclave ‘Marketing 3.0’ on 22nd September 2018. This year’s theme was ‘Digitalization of Marketing’. Mr.Dhaval Thanki, Business Development Director, Cartesian Consulting; Mr. Mohan Simham, Head of Consumer IoT, Vodafone; Mr. Soham Wagh, Senior Marketing Manager, GSK; Mr. VR Rajesh, Sr. VP & Managing Partner, Ogilvy and Mather and Mr. K Vaitheeswaran, Ex-Advisor, Deloitte and Diageo were the honourable speakers for this occasion. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the felicitation of the speakers by our Director, Dr. Asmita Chitnis. It was followed by the release of this year’s edition of the Marketing magazine ‘Catalyst’. The first speaker of the event was Mr. Dhaval Thanki, who quoted that consumer response is a function of relevance and ease of action. He interpreted that it could be achieved only through the digitalization of marketing, as it involves both customer data and the technologies revolving around it. The second speaker was Mr. Mohan Simham, who pinpointed the acronym ‘COUCH’ that defines Marketing 3.0 – Context, Oath of Privacy, Use-cases, Converged communications and Human behaviour to anchor technology. The next speaker was Mr. Soham Wagh who described through statistics, how digitalization is becoming increasingly prominent and altering the face of pharma and healthcare. This was followed by Mr. VR Rajesh’s address, who elaborated the importance of delivering the product message for being smart and successful advertisers. The final address was by Mr. K Vaitheeswaran, who explained how Omni- channel marketing is going to be the future of this technology-driven business world. This enlightening course of lectures was followed by a panel discussion of the speakers, and students gained valuable insights on trending topics from their diverse experience. The event came to an end, with Mr. Rajesh Jawajala, Asst. Professor of Marketing at SIIB, proposing the Vote of Thanks.
