Know Your Specialisation
The junior batch 2018-20 of MBA-IB witnessed a series of ‘Know Your Specialisation’ events from the 01st to 04th of August, 2018. They were conducted to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the different specialisations - Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Energy and Environment and Agribusiness, that they were going to opt for in the future semesters. The first session of 'Know Your Specialization' was conducted for the MBA-E&E batch 2018-20 on the 01st of August. Dr. Prakash Rao, Dy. Director and Mr. Dipen Paul, Assistant Professor explained about the subject scope and opportunities of career growth. On the 02nd of August, the session was on Supply Chain Management by visiting faculty Mr. Balaji Reddie. He explained how a career in Operations has numerous dimensions to be explored in every industry. The ‘Know Your Specialisation’ for Marketing, Finance and HR were collectively held on 03rd August. The Marketing session was convened by Mrs. Suchitha Jha, Dr. Rajesh Jawajala and Dr. Kingshuk Bhadury. Students were told how important it is to choose the right domain and evaluate oneself constantly to stay fit to the industry requirements. The Finance session was addressed by Dr. Jeevan Nagarkar, CA Madhura Ranade and Dr. Neha Patwardhan. They explained how number-crunching skills and knowledge of tools such as Excel and Bloomberg, could prepare students for successful careers in Finance. In the HR session, Dr. Shubhasheesh Bhattacharya and Dr. Dharmesh Mishra spoke to students about analytical and interpersonal skills, recruitment strategies and reward structures. The students of Agribusiness, batch of 2018-2020, attended their Know Your Specialization session on the 4th of August. The session was convened by Dr. Nisha Bharti, Head of Department – Agribusiness. Students learnt about the approach they needed to have towards different sectors of Agribusiness, its companies and the preparation for live projects.Students of the senior batch from all specialisations were present in all the ‘Know Your Specialisation’ sessions to share their inputs and internship experiences and to clarify all queries of the juniors.
