Synopsis:

On 05th February 2022, the MBA Batch of 2020-2022 and 2021-2023 attended a ‘Gender Sensitisation and Awareness on Sexual Harassment’ workshop conducted by Ms.Renuka Mukadam.

Ms. Mukadam initiated the session by highlighting the importance of adopting good practices in the workplace. She shared an engaging video clip that showcased the need for diversity in the workplace. She further delved into three key concepts of the discussion; Gender, Power and Sexuality. Elaborating these ideas with real-life scenarios, Ms. Mukadam touched on the subjects of social and gender identity, functional power, personal space and consent. She further enlightened students with the construct of Sexual Harassment and its types, namely; Verbal, Physical, Visual and Digital Harassment. Ms. Mukadam also emphasised the policies and laws that prevent these forms of harassment.

The session ended with a very insightful and engaging question-and-answer round.
