Short Synopsis of the Workshop:


On 24th January, the students of MBA International Business 2019-2021 batch witnessed an intriguing guest lecture convened by Dr. Jayashree Watal, Honarary Professor at National Law University, Delhi. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown Law and is teaching a course on International Trade, Intellectual Property Rights and Public Health since 2009. She has been a counsellor for the WTO for over 18 years. In her speech, Dr. Jayashree Watal spoke about ‘International Trade and Intellectual Property Rights related issues. 

In her speech, she proceeded to talk about the importance of understanding international and national trade issues and how it will help us in the corporate lift. She mentioned how trade rules and domestic policies can have a bearing on every sector of the economy. She enlightened the crowd on various topics like how the trade rules are set, how trade negotiations are made, future of trade agreements etc. She went on to discuss how to protect IPRs in a joint development project. She also gave the students insights on the effect of Intellectual Property Rights on international trade.

Dr. Jayashree Watal gave us useful tips on how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset through his unique life experiences.
