Alumni Session with new batch of 18-20
On 16th June, 2018, the 2018-2020 batch of Symbiosis Institute of International Business was privileged to hear from three of its eminent alumni Mr. Shrirang Sajjanpawar, an alumnus of 1992-1993 batch, Global Business Coordinator, Maersk Line, Mr. Arun Bhanumurthy, an alumnus of 1998-2000 batch, Executive Vice President of Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Herman Oberoi, an alumnus of 2009-2011 batch, Global Product manager at Danfoss.
Mr. Shrirang Sajjanpawar, the alumnus of the very first batch of SIIB recounted his journey from SIIB to the professional world and the challenges faced in a shipping company. Mr. Sajjanpawar also cautioned the young generation against perils social media addiction.
Mr. Arun Bhanumurthy spoke at length about virtues such as compassion, integrity and humility. He further elucidated the same by citing insightful examples from the Mahabharata. He also spoke about the challenges faced in the Supply Chain in today’s world.
Mr. Herman Oberoi, the alumnus of the very first batch of Energy and Environment, reminisced his nostalgic days in SIIB. He also spoke at length about the new trends in the Energy and Environment Sector, the challenges in the near future and the importance of clean energy.
The session was followed by a question and answer session for over one hour. The sagacious advice by the distinguished alumni proved to be insightful for the junior batch, poised to take on their MBA journey with confidence.
