Academic Evaluation

Method of assessment:
100 credits in four semesters –
For Batch 2011-13
Out of which 90 credits will have 60% component of internal evaluation and 40% component of external evaluation. The balance 10 credits will be exclusively (100%) internal evaluation. Each credit is defined as 15 hrs. of teaching and each credit is assessed for 50 marks.
For Batch 2012-14 Onwards
Out of which 70 credits will have 60% component of internal evaluation and 40% component of external evaluation. The balance 30 credits will be exclusively (100%) internal evaluation. Each credit is defined as 15 hrs. of teaching and each credit is assessed for 50 marks.

Standard of passing:
For Batch 2011-13
The assessment of the students for each course is done, based on the relative performance of the student compared to the class average. Maximum GP is 4 corresponding to A +. For all the courses, a student is required to pass both internal and external exams separately with a minimum grade point of 1.6 corresponding to the D- Grade Point Average.
For Batch 2012-14 Onwards

Laptop:
It is mandatory for all the students to have a Laptop (laptops are not provided by the Institute).
Dress Code:
As a B-School student, certain dress code norms are to be followed at SIIB. In the academic block, students are always required to be in presentable clothes. Dress code for boys is trousers, shirt and leather shoes and for girls it is salwar-kurta & dupatta.
Ragging:
Ragging within or outside of Symbiosis InfoTech Campus is strictly prohibited. The students and parents have to furnish Anti Ragging Affidavit before joining the institute. The institute also has Anti Ragging Committee and Anti Ragging Squad to monitor the same. Anyone involved directly or indirectly is liable for strict action as per the rules.
Hostel Facilities:
The MBA-IB, MBA-AB and MBA-E & E programmes are fully residential. Allotment of rooms is done by Administrator, SIC and will be final. Wholesome breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided in the mess. All students will be members of the mess.
Some of the important Hostel Rules:
• Smoking, alcoholic drinks and drugs are prohibited on the campus.
• Automated Vehicles (Motorcycle, Scooters, and Cars) are prohibited on the campus.
• Students may bring bicycles.
• Entry of boys in the girl’s hostels and vice versa is prohibited.
• Campus gates are closed at 10:30 p.m.
