About the Library
The SIFT library was started on 10th September 1992.
It is now recognized as the SIIB library, which is been considered as an integral part in the academic activities of the Institute.
The library has a collection of more than 7500 books. It has proud subscription to more than 100 periodicals. The library is equipped with EBSCO and CMIE databases and DELNET facilities. SIIB library is fully automated.

Library Location

The library is located on the 2nd floor of SIC campus.

Working Hours

The library is open on all the 362 days a year except three National holidays 26th January, 15th August and 2nd October from 8.30 am till 11.00 pm..

Services

The library provides the following services:
Circulation
Each user is provided with  TWO white cards for issue of books and ONE green card for back issue of periodical. 
Current Awareness Service : CAS
The CAS is accessible to the users through the Web Opac facility.
• Reprographic service
The photocopying facilities are available in the Institute for the users from 8.30am to 9.00pm.
• Display of new arrivals
The new arrivals are displayed in the open rack kept in the stack room.
• Inter Library Loan facility : ILL
The users can have an access to the ILL facility of the following institutes:
-SCIT
-SCMHRD
-Gokhale Institute of Economics and Politics
-British Council Library
-Marhatta Chambers of Commerce 
-Bank of Maharashtra

Collection and Resources

The library collection consists of books, back volumes of periodicals, Annual Company Reports, Online databases, e journals, CD ROMs, Audio Cassettes which are in open access while the reference books are preserved in closed stacks and made available only on request.
A separate SCD server has been installed through which the students can have a direct access to all the CDs of the library.

Books

Books are arranged in descending alphabetical order for easy access to the users. The users through the Web Opac facility can easily access the location and status of the books.

Display of new books

New books are displayed on every Monday for a period of 1 week in an open rack in the library and can be borrowed after the expiry period.

Reference book collections

Reference books include encyclopedias, dictionaries, rare, costly and also some of print books, which have to be referred to only in the reading room, and must be taken with permission.

Current Periodicals

The library subscribes to over 100 periodicals, which are bifurcated as journals and magazines and are arranged alphabetically in the Reading Room. No current periodical can be taken outside the library without permission.

Back Volumes of Periodicals

The back volumes of periodicals are kept at the backside of the stack room and can be issued outside the library.

Non-book collections

Corporate Reports

Annual reports of Companies are kept in boxes in the stack room behind the issue counter. There are also Project reports submitted by the Institute students.

Electronic Collection

Library subscribes to two databases namely CMIE and EBSCO, which can be accessed by the users through the SIIB intranet.
