joined hands with
CII Yi, Pune
in July 2011 to form a net that helps provide a platform whichfocuses on issues of national importance in the economic & social agenda of India.
CII Yi takes up socially responsible and developmental projects for Youth through the following core committees: Education, Economy, Environment, Healthcare and Youth Affairs. It also facilitates youth to unleash their potential and create a positive impact. Promotes knowledge sharing, leadership, networking and skill set development amongst its members.

Listed below are some of the initiatives that took place in the Academic Year 2011-12.
Visit to Weikfield Food Industries
CII-Yi
, Puneand
SIIB
arranged a trip to Weikfield Food Industries, Viman Nagar, Pune. On the 10th of August, 2011, a 21 member group from SIIB were a part of this educational first-hand experience granting them access to the food processing industry’s inner mechanisms, giving them an insight into the manufacturing and marketing processes of the company.

Screening of ShekharDattatri's documentary “Truth about Tigers”
CII Yi, SIIB Net
members got a chance to interact with ShekharDattatri and watch the documentary 22nd September, 2011.
The filmcombines stunning footage shot by some of the world’s leading cinematographers with deep insights from experts such as renowned tiger biologist. This unique film takes one through the tiger’s life, from birthto death, and illustrates how different human activities impact the conservation of this great predator. Internationally acclaimed actor,Roshan Seth, provides the narration.
Debate Competition
A debate competition was organized by the
CII-Yi
at
SIIB
with 24 participants vying for the top place. In depth discussions ensued on a variety of topics leading to the selection of 8 participants for the final round. The final debate was contested on the topic
“Socialnetworking- Boon or Bane”
. The judgement was based on several factors including the understanding, presentation, participation and economy of words etc. and
PrateekMarwah
of MBA-IB (2011-13) was adjudicated the winner and will be representing SIIB at the next round to be conducted by CII-Yi.(

Joy of Giving Week (3

SIIB
is celebrated‘Joy of Giving Week’which started on 3rd October 2011 with
Blood Donation Camp
organized by CII Yi, SIIB and KEM Hospital.
We had an overwhelming response from students, faculty and staff. Overall more than sixty donors were there as a part of this wonderful initiative.
Through different ways members made the contribution to the society. A
Joy Box
was placed at different locations for everyone to make contributions by donating clothes, stationary, books, shoes, etc. for the betterment of those children who require these things.
Visit to Forbes Marshall
Yet another round of industry interface in association with CII Yi, Pune, members got an opportunity to visit one of the finest manufacturing facilities of Forbes Marshall on 24
th
of February, 2012. Students’ were able to access the assembly-line area and were explained about the working and use of all the machines and units. It was a great learning experience where students even got a chance to interact with the personnel of the company.
