ANUSMRITI 2008,the platform where the alumni of batch 1996-98 joined hand in hand to remember their old pals at SIIB. It is the time when the Alumni who presently are enjoying good portfolios in the corporate world feel jubilant and light-hearted on interacting with their past teachers, friends and the students of SIIB. The Alumni share their experience at SIIB and make the environment blissful with their high-spirits. The event was inaugurated by Honorable Director of SIIB Dr.(Mrs.) Rajni Gupte with the lightning of lamp. This was followed by the interaction session with the Alumni. The event was made graceful with the throttling entertainment presented by the students of SIIB which include a mix starting from the regional dances to the heart-throbbing contemporary music. The whole event was relished by one and all but at the end nostalgia remained in the heart of the parting buddies.
 

Congratulations Samir Jayaswal on the release of your book !

Samir is an alumnus of SIIB (1996 – 98 ) batch. After SIIB, Samir joined Financial Technologies India limited and went on to head their Products as VP ( Products ) . He has also worked with Trema ( France) and WIPRO Technologies , Bangalore . Currently, Samir Jayaswal heads the Product Management and Product Development Group for treasury and risk management products at 3i Infotech Limited (http://www.3i-infotech.com). He has about a decade of experience in conceptualizing, leading, and managing product development for financial markets in domains such as fixed income , equities, foreign exchange, commodities and derivatives. These products have been successfully deployed in banks, exchanges, financial institutions, and brokerages worldwide and have fulfilled functions such as trading , surveillance, risk management, and settlements. He is a computer science graduate and a postgraduate in international finance. He is an avid investor and a voracious reader. You can contact Samir at leosamir@yahoo.com. Alumni Meet at H2O, Mumbai, 19th of October 2007

 

The Mumbai Alumni Meet was held on the 19th of October at the H2O lounge in Khar. The meet was a huge success with an alumni turnout of around one hundred people. This is the highest strength which has participated at an SIIB Alumni Meet till date. It was graced by the Alumni right from the first batch of 1992 – 93. It was also attended by the faculty – Ms. Nandita Dalal, Ms. Joshi, Ms Smita Deo and Ms. Nirupama Mande. A major development of the Meet was the starting of a Mumbai Chapter which would give the Alumni a platform to come together. The details of this are being worked on and will be intimated shortly. We are planning to open up similar chapters in other cities as well.

Overall it was a huge success and we will try our best to conduct more meets like these in future at all possible venues. We thank the Mumbai Alumni for their initiative and support in helping us organize this Meet.

 Anusmruti '07, the Alumni Meet to commemorate a decade of success of the 1995-97 batch of SIFT (now SIIB) was held at the SIC auditorium on January 6th 2007. The evening was attended by a large number of students from that batch, which was also the first ever batch of the two-year MPIB course. The alumni were delighted to meet their old batch mates and to see their alma mater evolve into a world-class management institute. The alumni also got to interact with their erstwhile faculty, present at the event. At a special function held at the venue to honour them, the alumni were felicitated by Dr. Rajani Gupte, Director, SIIB. Some of the alumni then took to the stage to share their glorious days at the institute. They were later treated to a cultural programme presented by the students of SIIB. The programme included scintillating dance numbers, moving song renditions and a hilarious play, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
