61 years have passed since
Nehru’s legendary speech of India
awakening to a new dawn. There has been a surfeit of
changes, unimaginable innovations and captivating
creations since then making India
a vibrant nation and placing her on the road map of
glory.
However, sensitive issues like inclusive growth,
environmental imbalance, business ethics, and social
structure amongst a host of others have somewhere been
abandoned. This has left the future to be uncertain
and hanging on a thin line. It is time to transcend
existing paths and find novel ideas to make the world
a meliorated place.
History has proven that success never eludes
individuals who have ignored scepticism and dared to
dream. Against the backdrop of this theme
‘Rethinking the future’, R.D. Aga
Memorial Lecture Series 2008 was organised on 29th
February 2008, The series is a showcase event from the desk of SIIB
touching issues which would shape the world in times
to come.
The lecture series is organized in the fond memory of
Late
Shri Rohinton D. Aga
Former
Chairman,
Thermax Group of Companies
He was an entrepreneur who distinguished himself as
an industrialist and had a pioneering role in the
development of Pune as an Industrial Hub. SIIB
dedicates this lecture series every year to the memory
of this great son of Pune.
